Quick Wrap: Nifty PSU Bank Index registers a drop of 2.28%

Nifty PSU Bank index closed down 2.28% at 5038.25 today. The index has added 11.00% over last one month. Among the constituents, Punjab & Sind Bank fell 5.89%, UCO Bank shed 5.13% and Central Bank of India dropped 4.19%. The Nifty PSU Bank index has increased 57.00% over last one year compared to the 11.42% spike in benchmark Nifty 50 index. In other indices, Nifty Auto index has slid 1.69% and Nifty Bank index is down 1.68% on the day. In broad markets, the Nifty 50 has dropped 0.80% to close at 19742.35 while the SENSEX has declined 0.85% to close at 66230.24 today.
