QUICK WRAP: NIFTY METAL INDEX RISES 1.08%

Nifty Metal index closed up 1.08% at 6687.1 today. The index is up 4.00% over last one month. Among the constituents, APL Apollo Tubes Ltd gained 5.66%, Jindal Stainless Ltd jumped 3.22% and Jindal Steel & Power Ltd rose 1.93%. The Nifty Metal index is up 22.00% over last one year compared to the 5.68% surge in benchmark Nifty 50 index. In other indices, Nifty Private Bank index added 1.03% and Nifty Bank index increased 0.99% on the day. In broad markets, the Nifty 50 witnessed a rise of 0.38% to close at 18191 while the SENSEX added 0.37% to close at 61133.88 today.
