Quick Wrap: Nifty IT Index registers a drop of 2.20%

Nifty IT index closed down 2.20% at 28342.8 today. The index has lost 2.00% over last one month. Among the constituents, LTI Mindtree Ltd dropped 3.76%, Persistent Systems Ltd slipped 3.34% and Infosys Ltd shed 2.74%. The Nifty IT index has decreased 17.00% over last one year compared to the 2.02% spike in benchmark Nifty 50 index. In other indices, Nifty PSU Bank index increased 1.45% and Nifty Bank index added 1.38% on the day. In broad markets, the Nifty 50 added 0.09% to close at 17828 while the SENSEX increased 0.06% to close at 60431 today.
