Quick Wrap: Nifty IT Index gains 0.78%

Nifty IT index ended up 0.78% at 28962.3 today. The index has slipped 7.00% over last one month. Among the constituents, Mphasis Ltd rose 1.77%, Coforge Ltd added 1.73% and Tata Consultancy Services Ltd gained 1.53%. The Nifty IT index has fallen 26.00% over last one year compared to the 3.44% increase in benchmark Nifty 50 index. In other indices, Nifty PSU Bank index gained 0.72% and Nifty Pharma index gained 0.72% on the day. In broad markets, the Nifty 50 recorded a gain of 0.19% to close at 18232.55 while the SENSEX increased 0.21% to close at 61294.2 today.
