Q3FY25 Quarterly Result Announced for Kabra Extrusion Technik Ltd.

Industrial Machinery company Kabra Extrusion Technik announced Q3FY25 results

  • Operating Revenues at Rs 1,212 million in Q3FY25.
    • Extrusion Machinery revenues stood at Rs 883 million in Q3FY25 as compared to Rs 711 million in Q3FY24; up by 24.2% YoY.
    • Geon (erstwhile Battrixx) revenues stood at Rs 346 million in Q3FY25.
  • EBITDA grew by 62.4% YoY to Rs 140 million in Q3FY25. EBITDA Margin stood at 11.6%, up by 460 bps YoY during Q3FY25.
  • Profit After Tax grew by 104.2% YoY to Rs 70 million in Q3FY25. PAT Margin stood at 5.8%, up by 303 bps YoY during Q3FY25.
  • EPS for Q3FY25 stood at Rs 2.01 as compared to Rs 0.99 in Q3FY24; up by 103% YoY

Anand Kabra, Managing Director of Kabra Extrusiontechnik said: “The Company’s plastic extrusion machine division continued to display growth and profitability in Q3FY25. The segment grew by 24.1% YoY during the quarter led by industry demand and strengthening of product portfolio. The order book remains healthy demonstrating strong brand recall of Kabra Extrusiontechnik’ s products in both domestic and export market.

In January 2025, Battrixx has been rechristened as ‘Geon’ with an abbreviated tag line ‘Green Energy On’ mirroring the Government’s push towards green and clean energy. Geon’s revenues have been subdued due to the ever-evolving nature of the Electric Vehicle (EV) industry. However, the management remains dedicated towards adding new revenue streams including e3W, Swapping Stations, High Voltage, aftersales market, Battery Energy Storage System (BESS), etc.

The Union Budget for 2025-26 promotes the localisation of EVs and battery manufacturing. These measures are expected to boost the adoption of EVs in the coming quarters”

Industrial Machinery company Kabra Extrusion Technik announced H1FY25 & Q2FY25 results

Q2FY25 Financial Highlights:

  • Operating Revenue at Rs 1,280 million in Q2FY25.
    • Extrusion Machinery revenues stood at Rs 1,055 million in Q2FY25 as compared to Rs 833 million in Q2FY24; up by 26.7% YoY.
    • Battrixx revenues stood at Rs 245 million in Q2FY25.
  • EBITDA grew by 93.8% YoY to Rs 223 million in Q2FY25; EBITDA margin expanded by 1,113 bps YoY to 17.5% in Q2FY25.
  • Profit After Tax surged by 119.1% YoY to Rs 123 million in Q2FY25; PAT margin expanded by 654 bps YoY to 9.6% in Q2FY25.
  • EPS for Q2FY25 stood at Rs 3.52 as compared to Rs 1.61 in Q2FY24.

H1FY25 Financial Highlights:

  • Operating Revenue at Rs 2,161 million in H1FY25.
    • Extrusion Machinery revenues stood at Rs 1,646 million in H1FY25 as compared to Rs 1,516 million in H1FY24; up 8.6% YoY.
    • Battrixx revenues stood at Rs 552 million in H1FY25.
  • EBITDA grew by 29.8% YoY to Rs 312 million in H1FY25; EBITDA margin expanded by 683 bps YoY to 14.4% in H1FY25
  • Profit After Tax grew by 25.7% YoY to Rs 143 million in H1FY25; PAT margin expanded by 302 bps YoY to 6.6% in H1FY25.
  • EPS for H1FY25 stood at Rs 4.10 as compared to Rs 3.26 in H1FY24.

Anand Kabra, Managing Director of Kabra Extrusiontechnik said: “The Company’s focus on profitability and order book execution have started to yield results during the quarter. The plastic extrusion machines division grew by 26.7% YoY in Q2FY25 due to strong industry demand, robust order book coupled with prudent execution of orders for new products. Kabra Extrusiontechik continues to invest in R&D thereby, building a strong portfolio of quality products for both domestic and exports.

Battrixx revenues has remained muted owing to the transitionary nature of the Electric Vehicle (EV) industry. However, we continue to work towards new segments including e3W, Swapping Stations, High Voltage, aftersales market, etc. and are expecting to get inroads in these segments in the coming quarters. Additionally, our foray into Battery Energy Storage System (BESS) is progressing as planned and is expected to contribute to the topline by FY26.”

    • Operating Revenues at Rs 3,160 million in H1FY24 as compared to Rs 2,852 million in H1FY23 – registering growth of 10.8% YoY
      • Extrusion Machinery revenues stood at Rs 1,516 million in H1FY24 as compared to Rs 1,281 million in H1FY23 - registering a growth of 18.3% YoY
      • Battrixx revenues grew by 5.7% YoY to Rs 1,680 million in H1FY24
    • EBITDA stood at Rs 240 million in H1FY24
    • Profit After Tax stood at Rs 114 million in H1FY24
    • EPS for H1FY24 stood at Rs 3.26 as compared to Rs 3.90 in H1FY23

Commenting on the performance, Anand Kabra, Managing Director of Kabra Extrusion Technik said, “Kabra Extrusion Technik’s operating revenues surged by 10.8% YoY to Rs 3,160 million in H1FY24 aided by overall growth from both Extrusion Machinery and Battrixx business. The E-2-Wheelers sales remained muted owing to the decline of FAME subsidy and regulatory changes which temporarily hindered the E-2-Wheelers adoption and sales momentum. However, the long-term outlook of the EV industry remains positive.”

He also added, “The E-2-Wheeler industry is at an inflection point with improving consumer sentiments during the ongoing festive season backed by new launches by the OEMs. The Company is actively engaging with E-3-Wheelers and E-LCVs OEMs for accomplishing their desired high-voltage battery pack expectations and anticipates to foray into those segments by the end of FY24.”

Commenting on the performance, Anand Kabra, Managing Director of Kabra Extrusiontechnik said, “Kabra Extrusiontechnik’s operating revenues surged by 27.1% YoY to in Rs 1,336 million in Q1FY24. Battrixx revenues grew by 39.1% YoY, despite the decline in E-2-Wheeler subsidy (FAME). The Extrusion business sales grew by 18.3% YoY at Rs 683 million in Q1FY24.”

He also added, “E-2-Wheeler industry is likely to bounce back through the current phase with improvement in consumer sentiments due to the onset of festive season and new launches. Battrixx ongoing capex is progressing as planned, eyeing 2 GW battery-packs manufacturing capacity by the end of FY24. Additionally, the Company aims to penetrate in E-3-Wheelers and E-LCVs battery packs by the end of FY24.”

  • Q4FY23:
    • Operating Revenues at Rs 1,780 million in Q4FY23 as compared to Rs 1,626 million in Q4FY22 – registering growth of 9.4% YoY
      • Extrusion Machinery revenues stood at Rs 1,038 million in Q4FY23 as compared to Rs 1,013 million in Q4FY22 - registering a growth of 2.5% YoY
      • Battrixx revenues surged by 20.7% YoY to Rs 744 million in Q4FY23.

      • Battrixx revenues grew exponentially by 217.4% YoY to Rs 3,534 million in FY23
    • EBITDA stood at Rs 741 million in FY23 as compared to Rs 549 million in FY22; up by 34.9% YoY
    • Profit After Tax was at Rs 375 million in FY23 vis-à-vis Rs 303 million in FY22; up by 23.9% YoY
    • EPS for FY23 stood at Rs 10.72 as compared to Rs 9.41 in FY22

Commenting on the performance, Anand Kabra, Managing Director of Kabra Extrusiontechnik said, “Kabra Extrusion Technik reported its highest ever operating revenues at Rs 6,700 million in FY23 registering a strong growth of 65.1% YoY with both business segments reporting their highest ever revenues during the year. Battrixx revenues grew exponentially by 217.4% YoY at Rs 3,534 million in FY23. The Extrusion business sales grew by 7.7% YoY at Rs 3,198 million in FY23.

India’s Electric Vehicle (EV) sales surpassed the 1 million-units sales landmark for the first time in FY23. E-2-Wheelers contributed to 62% of overall EV sales during FY23 led by a rise in EV adoption by individuals and higher penetration due to improvised charging infrastructure.”

He also added, “Battrixx was the first EV battery-pack manufacturer to be accredited with ARAI certification under AIS 156 Amendment III Phase 2 for its batteries, conceptualized and designed in-house strategically with Hero Electric’s R&D team. Battrixx's latest battery packs offer enhanced performance maintaining the highest safety standards. We are well placed to benefit from India’s aggressive 2030 EV roadmap of a 100% electric vehicle nation.”

    • Operating Revenues at Rs 2,068 million in Q3FY23 as compared to Rs 1,054 million in Q3FY22 – registering growth of 96.3% YoY
      • Extrusion Machinery revenues stood at Rs 878 million in Q3FY23 as compared to Rs 680 million in Q3FY22 - registering a growth of 29.2% YoY

      • Revenue from Extrusion business grew by 10.1% YoY to Rs 2,159 million in 9MFY23
      • Battrixx revenues grew exponentially by 460.9% YoY to Rs 2,790 million in 9MFY23
    • EBITDA stood at Rs 507 million in 9MFY23 as compared to Rs 353 million in 9MFY22; up 43.9% YoY
    • Profit After Tax was at Rs 251 million in 9MFY23 vs Rs 181 million in 9MFY22
    • EPS for 9MFY23 stood at Rs 7.18 as compared to Rs 5.67 in 9MFY22

Commenting on the performance, Managing Director of Kabra ExtrusionTechnik, Mr. Anand Kabra said, “Kabra ExtrusionTechnik’s operating revenue surged by 96.3% YoY to Rs 2,068 million in Q3FY23 aided by strong growth in the Battrixx division revenues. India’s Electric Vehicle (EV) industry surpassed 1-million-unit sales milestone in the Calendar Year 2022. The Battrixx sales continued to experience exponential growth of 218.7% YoY to Rs 1,200 million in Q3FY23 aided by voluntary EV adoption by individuals, B2B purchases by fleet operators, adoption of FAME II and increased charging infrastructure leading to improved EV penetration in India.”

He also added, “The mandatory AIS 156 Phase I implementation from 1st December 2022 was a crucial move towards strengthening EV batteries quality backed by better design and high safety standards. Since inception, Battrixx adopted AIS 156 compliant battery packs, hence we could easily transition to the Government’s safety norms and fulfil OEMs demand. The stringent battery safety norms will act as an entry barrier strengthening the value proposition of the organized players.”

    • EBITDA stood at Rs 286 million in H1 FY23 as compared to Rs 190 million in H1 FY22; up 50.3% YoY
    • Profit After Tax was at Rs 136 million in H1 FY23 vis-a-vis Rs 93 million in H1 FY22
    • EPS for H1 FY23 stood at Rs 3.90 as compared to Rs 2.92 in H1 FY22

Commenting on the performance, Managing Director of Kabra ExtrusionTechnik, Mr. Anand Kabra said, “Kabra ExtrusionTechnik’s operating revenue grew by 116.7% YoY to % 1,800 Mn in Q2 FY23 supported by robust growth in Battrix division revenues. The Battrixx sales grew exponentially by 1,138.6% YoY to 2 1,110 Mn in Q2 FY23 supported by strong festive demand of E 2 Wheelers aided by increase in realizations for battery packs.”

He also added, “Battrixx remains amongst few industry players which has capabilities to handle multiple chemistries and types of cells. The Company is the largest chemistry agnostic battery pack manufacturer and the R&D team has expertise across Electrical & Electronics including smart Battery Management System (BMS), Internet of Things (IoT) and Data Analytics Solutions.
