Iron & Steel Products company JSW Steel announced Q2FY26 results

  • Crude Steel Production: 7.90 million tonnes.
  • Saleable Steel Sales: 7.34 million tonnes.
  • Revenue from Operations: Rs 45,152 crore compared to Rs 39,684 million during Q2FY25, change 14%..
  • Reported EBITDA: Rs 7,115 crore compared to Rs 5,437 million during Q2FY25, change 31%.
  • Adjusted EBITDA : Rs 7,849 crore compared to Rs 5,644 million during Q2FY25, change 39%.
  • Net Profit after Tax: Rs 1,646 crore.
  • Net Debt to Equity: 0.93x and Net Debt to EBITDA: 2.97x.

Iron & Steel Products company JSW Steel announced Q1FY26 results

  • Consolidated Crude Steel Production for the Quarter stood at 7.26 million tonnes, higher by 14% YoY. Capacity utilization at the Indian operations was 87% during the Quarter vs 93% in Q4FY25, impacted by planned maintenance shutdowns.
  • Steel Sales for the Quarter stood at 6.69 million tonnes, higher by 9% YoY. The Institutional as well as Retail sales volumes were higher by 12% YoY. Domestic sales at 5.96 million tonnes increased 12% YoY. Exports fell 20% YoY and constituted 7% of sales from the Indian operations for Q1FY26.
  • The Company registered Revenue from Operations of Rs 43,147 crore and Operating EBITDA of 7,576 crore, with an EBITDA margin of 17.6% during the quarter.
  • The EBITDA increased by 37% YoY, driven primarily by higher volumes and lower coking coal costs.
  • The Profit after Tax for the Quarter was Rs 2,209 crore.
  • The Company's Net Gearing (Net Debt to Equity) stood at 0.95x at the end of the Quarter, as against 0.94x at the end of Q4FY25, and Net Debt to EBITDA stood at 3.20x, as against 3.34x at the end of Q4FY25.
  • Net Debt as of 30th June 2025 stood at Rs 79,850 crore, higher by 3,287 crore vs 31st March 2025, higher mainly due to investment in working capital.

Q4FY25 Financial Highlights:

  • Consolidated Crude Steel Production for the quarter stood at 7.63 million tonnes, higher by 9% QoQ and 12% YoY. Capacity utilization at the Indian operations was 93% during the quarter vs. 91% in Q3FY25.
  • Steel Sales for the quarter stood at 7.49 million tonnes, higher by 12% QoQ and 11% YoY.
  • The Company registered Revenue from Operations of 44,819 crore and Operating EBITDA of 6,378 crore, with an EBITDA margin of 14.2% during the quarter.
  • Operating EBITDA: 6,378 crore, the EBITDA increased by 14% QoQ, driven by higher sales volumes and lower coking coal cost.
  • The Profit after Tax for the quarter was 1,501 crore after considering an exceptional charge of 44 crore.
  • The Company's Net Gearing (Net Debt to Equity) stood at 0.94x at the end of the quarter, as against 1.00x at the end of Q3FY25, and Net Debt to EBITDA stood at 3.34x, as against 3.57x at the end of Q3FY25.

  • The Crude Steel Production for the quarter was at 5.30 million tonnes, lower by 3% YoY and 7% on QoQ basis.
  • Steel Sales for the quarter were 5.09 million tonnes, higher by 3% YoY and lower by 11% QoQ.
  • Standalone Revenue from Operations during the quarter of Rs 32,654 crore were largely flat YoY but lower by 8% QoQ mainly due to lower sales volumes.
  • Standalone Operating EBITDA at Rs 4,275 crore for Q1FY25 was lower by 12% YoY and 4% QoQ. The EBITDA margin for the quarter was 13.1%. Standalone Profit after Tax of Rs 1,205 crore for the quarter was down by 29% YoY and higher by 20% QoQ.

  • Standalone Q2FY24:
    • The Crude Steel Production was at 5.40 million tonnes, lower by 1% QoQ due to certain maintenance shutdowns taken during the quarter, but was higher by 9% on a YoY basis.
    • Standalone Steel Sales volumes were 5.41 million tonnes for the quarter, higher by 10% QoQ and 8% YoY, due to robust domestic demand and reduction in inventory.
    • The Company registered Revenue from Operations of Rs 33,738 crore, higher by 3% QoQ and 4% YoY. The growth was mainly driven by volumes and partially offset by lower sales realization.
    • The Company registered Operating EBITDA at Rs 6,898 crore for Q2FY24, higher by 42% QoQ and 296% YoY.
    • The EBITDA margin for the quarter was 20.4%. EBITDA was higher primarily due to lower coking coal cost, partially offset by lower steel realisations.
    • The Company reported Profit after Tax of Rs 22,913 crore for the quarter, growth of 71% QoQ and a significant increase from the loss of Rs 91 crore reported in Q2FY23.
