Q2FY26 Financial Highlights:

  • Revenue from Operations: Q2FY26: Rs 1,10,323 crore (Rs 1,08,196 crore in Q2FY25).
  • Gross Refining Margin (GRM): Q2FY26: USD 8.80 per barrel (USD 3.12 per barrel in Q2FY25).
  • PAT: Q2FY26: Rs 3,859 crore (Rs 143 crore in Q2FY25).

Business Highlights:

  • Q2FY26 Sales (including exports): 12.07 MMT (change 3.9% YoY).
    • Domestic Sales Growth: 3.6%.
    • Combined sale of Petrol (MS) and Diesel (HSD): 7.07 MMT (change 2.8% YoY).
    • Total LPG sales (Domestic and Non-Domestic): 2.39 MMT (change 5.9% YoY).
    • Pipeline Throughput: 6.12 MMT.

  • Standalone Revenue from Operations of Rs 1,18,936 crore during Q3FY25 (Rs 1,18,443 crore during Q3FY24).
  • Company’s Standalone Profit after Tax (PAT) during the quarter is Rs 3,023 crore (Rs 529 crore during Q3FY24).
  • Consolidated PAT during the quarter is Rs 2,544 crore (Rs 713 crore during Q3FY24).
  • Average GRM during Q3FY25 was USD 6.01 per barrel (USD 8.49 per barrel during Q3FY24).
  • During the period Apr-Dec 2024, HPCL Refineries recorded highest ever crude thruput of 18.53 MMT (operating at 106% of the installed capacity) registering an increase of 12.4% over the thruput of 16.49 MMT during Apr-Dec 2023.
  • During Q3FY25, the refineries recorded crude thruput of 6.47 MMT (operating at 111% of the installed capacity) registering an increase of 21.2% over the thruput of 5.34 MMT during Q3FY24.
  • During the period Apr-Dec 2024, HPCL recorded highest ever sales volume of 37.12 MMT (including exports) registering a growth of 7.6% as against 34.49 MMT during Apr-Dec 2023.
  • The company also recorded highest ever quarterly sales volume of 12.87 MMT (including exports) during Q3FY25 registering a growth of 8.2% as against 11.90 MMT in Q3FY24.
  • During Q3FY25, sale of Motor Fuels was 7.85 MMT (growth of 6.3% over Q3FY24) and in case of LPG, the company achieved a sales volume of 2.31 MMT (growth of 4.9% over Q3FY24).
  • The Aviation business of the company recorded a growth of 26.0% over Q3FY24 with sales volume of 285 TMT during the quarter.
  • HPCL’s Lubricants segment’s sales volume was 178 TMT during the quarter (growth of 11.5% over Q3FY24).

Q4FY24 Financial Highlights:

  • The Standalone PAT for the period Jan-Mar 2024 is Rs 2,843 crore, registering an increase of 437% over PAT of Rs 529 crore reported during the previous quarter Oct-Dec 2023.
  • The Company has reported Revenue from operations of Rs 1,21,532 crore for the Q4FY24, registering an increase of 6.2% over Revenue from operations of Rs 1,14,445 crore reported for the corresponding quarter of the previous year.
  • Average GRMs (Gross of export duty) for the Q4FY24 were USD 6.95 per barrel, compared to USD 14.01 per barrel during the corresponding period of the previous year.

FY24 Financial Highlights:

  • Hindustan Petroleum Corporation Limited (HPCL) has reported a record Consolidated Profit after Tax (PAT) of Rs 16,015 crore during FY24 (Consolidated Net Loss of Rs 6,980 crore during the previous financial year).
  • The Standalone PAT during FY24 was also the highest ever at Rs 14,694 crore (Standalone Net Loss of Rs 8,974 crore during the previous financial year).
  • For the FY24, the Revenue from operations stood at Rs 4,61,638 crore (Rs 4,66,192 crore during the previous year).
  • The Average GRMs (Gross of export duty) for the FY24 were USD 9.08 per barrel (USD 12.09 per barrel during the previous financial year).
  • The Board of Directors has recommended issue of bonus shares in the ratio 1:2 i.e., one new bonus equity share of Rs 10 each for every two existing equity shares of Rs 10 each fully paid up, subject to the approval of members of the company.
  • The Board of Directors has recommended a Final Dividend of Rs 16.50 per equity share having face value of Rs 10 (pre-bonus), which translates into final dividend of Rs 11.00 per equity share having face value of Rs 10 (post-bonus) for FY24.

Refineries/Petro-products company Hindustan Petroleum Corporation announced Q2FY24 & H1FY24 results:

1. Financial Performance:
- Revenue from operations of Rs 1,02,618 crore for Q2FY24. For H1FY24, the Revenues were Rs 2,21,662 crore.
- Consolidated profit after tax (PAT) of Rs 12,592 crore during H1FY24, compared to a net loss of Rs 11,033 crore in H1FY23.
- Standalone PAT for H1FY24 was also the highest ever at Rs 11,322 crore, compared to a net loss of Rs 12,369 crore last year.
- Average Gross Refining Margins (GRMs) for Q2FY24 were USD 13.33 per barrel, an increase from USD 8.41 per barrel in Q2FY23.

2. Exceptional Physical Performance:
- HPCL's refineries processed a record quarterly crude throughput of 5.75 MMT during Q2FY24, operating at 111.6% capacity, marking a 28% growth from Q2FY23.
- Visakhapatnam Refinery processed the highest ever quarterly crude throughput of 3.23 MMT, while Mumbai Refinery recorded its highest quarterly crude throughput of 2.52 MMT.
- The half-yearly crude throughput for Apr-Sep 2023 was 11.15 MMT, a growth of 19.9% over the previous year.

3. Marketing Performance:
- HPCL achieved a quarterly total sales volume of 10.74 MMT during Q2FY24, representing a growth of 3.4% compared to the same period last year.
- Domestic sales volume registered a growth of 3.02% with 10.08 MMT sold during the quarter.
- HPCL recorded the highest-ever LPG sales of 4.04 MMT during H1FY24, with a growth of 4.4% compared to the previous year.
- The company's presence in the aviation segment grew by 27.4% during the same period.

4. Projects and Initiatives:
- HPCL has invested Rs 7,196 crore during H1FY24 to strengthen refining and marketing infrastructure.
- The Visakhapatnam Refinery Modernization Project achieved the commissioning of a new Hydrogen Generation Unit and Sulphur Recovery Unit, among other milestones.
- The 9 MMTPA grassroots refinery cum petrochemical project at Barmer, Rajasthan achieved mechanical completion of the Diesel Hydrotreating and Hydrogen Generation Units.
- New initiatives include collaborations for research in green hydrogen, battery technology, and biofuels, and partnerships for white-label ATMs and electric two-wheeler battery swapping.

  • The company has reported decadal high quarterly standalone profit after tax (PAT) of Rs 6,204 crore during Q1FY24, registering an increase of 192% over Rs 3,223 crore PAT reported during Q4FY23 (standalone net loss of Rs 10,197 crore during Q1FY23).
  • Consolidated PAT during Q1FY24 was Rs 6,766 crore as compared to a net loss of Rs 8,557 crore during Q1FY23.

  • Standalone Profit after Tax (PAT) of Rs 3,223 crore during Q4FY23 as compared to Rs 1,795 crore during Q4FY22, an increase of 80%
  • The consolidated PAT during Q4FY23 was Rs 3,608 crore as compared to Rs 2,018 crore during Q4FY22
  • HPCL has reported Revenue from operations of Rs 1,14,445 crore for Q4FY23 registering growth of 8.7% over Q4FY22 of Rs 1,05,288 crore
  • For FY23, the growth in Revenue from operations was 24.7% taking the same to the Highest Ever Revenue from Operations of Rs 4,66,192 crore as compared to Rs 3,73,897 crore during FY22
  • For FY23, exceptionally high international oil prices along with suppressed marketing margins on select Transport fuel, had severely impacted the profitability, resulting in a Net Loss of Rs 8,974 crore for FY23 as compared to Profit after Tax (PAT) of Rs 6,383 crore during the corresponding period of the previous year.
  • On a consolidated basis, HPCL reported Net Loss of Rs 6,980 crore for FY23 as compared to a consolidated PAT of Rs 7,294 crore during the corresponding period of previous year.
  • Average GRMs (Gross of export duty) for the period Q4FY23 were USD 14.01 per barrel (USD 12.44 per barrel during the corresponding period of previous year)
  • Average GRMs for FY23 were USD 12.09 per barrel compared to USD 7.19 per barrel during FY22
