A Comprehensive List Of Stock Market Holidays

02 Feb 2023 0 COMMENT

A financial market is a place where financial instruments like shares, bonds, derivatives, commodities, currencies and other securities are traded by investors. The trading takes place through designated stock exchanges and commodity exchanges.

There are two major stock exchanges in India – the Bombay Stock Exchange (BSE) and the National Stock Exchange of India (NSE). Both stock exchanges have been a tremendous source of wealth creation for all investors over the years.

There are two major commodity exchanges in India – Multi Commodity Exchange (MCX) and National Commodity and Derivate Exchange (NCDEX). Initially, commodities trading came under the regulations of the Forward Markets Commission (FMC) scope. However, in 2016, the FMC was integrated into the Securities and Exchange Board of India (SEBI). The NSE and BSE also provide trading in the commodity segment.

It is essential to know when these stock and commodity exchanges work and when there is a trading holiday. Here is a detailed list of market holidays
