Nifty December futures trade at premium

The Nifty December 2023 futures closed at 21,690, a premium of 35.25 points compared with the Nifty`s closing 21,654.75 in the cash market.

In the cash market, the Nifty 50 zoomed 213.40 points or 1% to 21,654.75.

The NSE`s India VIX, a gauge of market`s expectation of volatility over the near term, jumped 5.99% to 15.56.

HDFC Bank, Reliance Industries and ICICI Bank were the top traded individual stock futures contracts in F&O segment of NSE.

The December 2023 F&O contracts will expire on 28 December 2023.
