REVISION IN MARKET LOT OF DERIVATIVE CONTRACTS ON INDIVIDUAL STOCKS

As per SEBI guidelines, for periodic revision of lot sizes for derivatives contracts in NSE for F&O contracts from May 2022, June 2022 & July 2022 expiry. The market lots of derivatives contracts shall be revised 12 stocks downwards, revised 52 stocks upward, 133 stocks remain unchanged & 2 stocks revised downwards but new lot size is not a multiple of old lot size.

FAQ’s: -

What will happen to F&O open positions in which lot size got changed?

The market lots of derivatives contracts shall be revised in downwards for May & June expiry & client will take only fresh position for lot size revised in upward for July expiry which will introduce after 29 April 2022 expiry.

What will be the impact on margins on futures open position after lot size revised downwards?

There will be no margin impact on open positions for May & June expiry as lot size revised downward will get in ratio of 2 lots for open position of 1 lot.

What will be the impact on margins on F&O open position after lot size revised upward?

There will be no impact on May & June expiry open position contracts as these contract trade at present market lot & July contracts will be available with revised market lots.

When will the F&O lot size gets revised & where to see in ICICIdirect?

Before April expiry ICICIdirect will do the needful changes for clients having open positions in May, June & July contracts. You can check in F&O order book after 29th May 2022.

When will the revised contract will be available for trading?

This revised contract shall come into effect from April 29, 2022 for May, June & July expiry.

What will be the impact on F&O profit & loss after lot size gets revised?

There will be no impact on F&O profit & loss after lots size gets revised as futures & options are cash settled.

Will Spread order book be available for the combination contract of June & July 2022 expiry?

The day spread order book will not be available for the combination contract of June 2022 July 2022 expiry for those stock where lot size gets revised upward.
