GOLD JUMPS NEAR ONE AND HALF WEEK HIGH ON COMEX

COMEX Gold futures jumped near one and half week high on sustained buying support. The counter currently trades flat $1788 per ounce. Worries over the delta variant of Covid-19 continue to weigh on sentiments, keeping Gold elevated despite visible selling pressure in other commodities. The global coronavirus caseload has topped 207.7 million, while the deaths have surged to more than 4.37 million and vaccinations soared to over 4.70 billion, according to Johns Hopkins University. The University`s Center for Systems Science and Engineering (CSSE) revealed that the current global caseload, death toll and vaccination tally stood at 207,798,567, 4,370,447 and 4,703,578,751, respectively. The US continues to be the worst-hit country with the world`s highest number of cases and deaths at 36,884,777 and 622,292, respectively, according to the CSSE.
