- Profit before tax (PBT) for the quarter was reported at Rs 257 crore, showcasing a significant YoY growth from Rs 13 crore in Q1FY26 and a QoQ increase of 135.78% from Rs 109 crore in Q4FY26.

- Segment-wise Performance:
- Optical networking business: The segment reported revenue of Rs 1,842 crore in Q1FY27, up from Rs 961 crore in Q1FY26 and Rs 1,378 crore in Q4FY26. The segment EBITDA for Q1FY27 was Rs 401 crore.
- Digital and technology solutions: Segment revenue was Rs 72 crore in Q1FY27, compared to Rs 64 crore in Q1FY26 and Rs 69 crore in Q4FY26. The segment EBITDA for Q1FY27 was Rs 2 crore.
- The company achieved a record open order book of Rs 18,618 crore at the end of Q1FY27.
- STL secured a landmark Qualified Institutions Placement (QIP) of Rs 1,500 crore, which enabled the company to become net debt-free with a net cash balance of Rs 483 crore.
- Major order wins during the quarter included a multi-year contract worth USD 1.11 billion (Rs 10,000 crore) from a hyperscaler to supply optical connectivity products from FY27 to FY29.
- The company secured multiple hyperscaler orders worth 100 million USD for its Neuralis portfolio and a strategic order for long-haul, dark-fibre High Density Micro-cables.
- The optical connectivity attach rate reached 16% in Q1FY27, compared to 15% in FY26.
- Geographical revenue distribution for Q1FY27 showed Americas at 54%, Europe at 25%, and ROW at 22%.

Sterlite Technologies Ltd. is an Indian multinational technology company that provides all-in 5G solutions. The company has expanded its portfolio to manufacture and supply power transmission conductors, fibre optic cables, optical fibres, structured data cables, aluminium and alloy rods, copper telecom cables, cable accessories, and customer premise equipment. It was incorporated in 1988 with its headquarters in Mumbai. During the June 2022 quarter, the company reported a total income of Rs 1,580 crore, down 2.05% from the previous March 2022 quarter. On 29 August 2022, its market capitalisation stood at Rs 6,828 crore.
The company’s share is listed on the Bombay Stock Exchange with the code 532374 and on the National Stock Exchange with the code STLTECH.
Sterlite Technologies Ltd. is amongst the top optical players in the world due to its capabilities across software, wireless connectivity, and optical networking services. STL has a strong global presence in the US, the UK, Italy, India, Brazil, and China.
On 30 June 2022, the company’s shareholding pattern revealed a promoter stake, foreign institutional investor stake, domestic institutional investor stake, and public stake of 54.15%, 5.99%, 7.2%, and 32.66%, respectively. The leading promoter is Twin Star Overseas Ltd. with a 52.64% share. In the June 2022 quarter, the company’s promoter holdings decreased from 54.16% to 54.15%, mutual fund holdings dipped from 4.89% to 4.19%, and FII holdings declined from 6.14% to 5.99%.
