MRF Ltd or MRF Tyres Ltd was founded in the year 1946 as a toy balloon manufacturing unit in Madras. In the year 1952, they ventured into the production of tread rubber and within 4 years became the market leader in India with 50% market share. With years passing by MRF forayed into various other business segments like different types of tyres, sports goods, paints & coats, and pretreads. They produce tyres for vehicles like: passenger cars, two wheelers, farm vehicles, trucks, Off the Road tyres, 3-wheelers, tyres for pickup vehicles, light commercial vehicles. small commercial vehicles, medium commercial vehicles, individually constructed vehicles, and tubes and flaps.
MRF Tyres reported an annual income of Rs. 22,826 crores in FY 2022-2023 which was 18% more than the last financial year. In the same year, the company had 27% increase in their profit before tax which standing at Rs. 1,119 crores and the profit after taxes stood at Rs. 816 crores resulting in an 26.12% Y-o-Y increase. MRF declared a final dividend of Rs 169 per share of Rs. 10 each on the paid-up equity capital of the company.
