Bosch is a German multinational engineering and technology company headquartered in Gerlingen, Germany. In India, Bosch is a leading supplier of technology services in various sectors, including mobility solutions, consumer goods, energy, construction, and automobiles. The company also manufactures home appliances, such as refrigerators, dishwashers, washing machines, etc. Bosch Limited was incorporated in 1951 under the name Motor Industries Company. As of 16 October 2022, the market capitalisation of the company stood at Rs 45,621 crore.
Bosch Limited became a publicly listed company in 2003. It is listed on the Bombay Stock Exchange under the scrip code 500530 and the National Stock Exchange under the code BOSCHLTD.
As of 16 October 2022, Bosch has 440 registered subsidiaries and regional companies in more than 60 countries. In India, it has more than 30,000 employees and has generated consolidated sales revenue of Rs 195 billion. The company has 16 manufacturing sites and seven development and application centres across the country. For the quarter that ended June 2022, the company registered consolidated sales of Rs 3,544.40 crore with a net profit of Rs 334.10 crore. The company’s management team includes Mr Soumitra Bhattacharya (Managing Director), Mr Bhaskar Bhat (Independent Director), Ms Hema Ravichandar (Independent Director), Mr Gopichand Katragadda (Independent Director), and Mr S V Ranganath (Independent Director), among others.
In June 2022, the shareholding pattern of the company revealed a 70.54% stake in the company was held by promoters, a 13.12% stake belonged to domestic institutions, a 9.76% stake was held by retail investors, a 3.56% stake was held by foreign institutional investors, and the remaining 3.02% stake was invested in mutual funds. The top mutual funds in which the company has invested include Quant Mid Cap Fund Direct Growth, Quant Infrastructure Fund Direct Growth, Kotak Infrastructure and Economic Reform Fund Direct Growth, and the L&T Focussed Equity Fund Direct Growth.
