Easy Steps to Check Credit Card Application Status

6 Mins 24 Feb 2022 2 COMMENTS

Introduction:

A credit card lets you borrow funds when you are falling short and gives you a specific time frame to repay those lent funds. You can be flexible with your payments, enjoy local/ global partner benefits, receive reward points and cash backs, and unlock various other benefits with a credit card. But to enjoy those advantages, you must have a steady flow of income and a good CIBIL score. The credit card application process is very straightforward in most banks and takes no more than a few minutes. If you have recently applied for a credit card and want to know how to carry a credit card application status check, read on to understand how to go about it.

Online credit card application status check

With everything digitized, including financial services, almost every bank in India, at least in the metropolitans, has their credit card application procedures online. Everything step of the credit card application system including applying, verifying, and checking the credit card application status, is available on the bank’s website. To check the status of your credit card application, all you have to do is:

  • Visit the bank’s website and click on the ‘credit card’ section
  • Log in with your user Login or ID number and password
  • Click on ‘track application’.
  • Enter the details requested, like your credit card application ID, mobile number, PAN card information
  • Click on submit, and you will see the desired information on your screen

Additionally, you might also be asked to provide other details like your date of birth or credit card application form number. Keep them at hand for a smooth status check.

Offline credit card application status check

If for some reason, you want to check your credit card application status offline, you can visit your bank’s nearest branch in person and talk to the concerned professional. They will provide the details of your application. In the offline mode, you have to carry hard copies (or soft copies if allowed) of relevant documents like your PAN card, Aadhar card, application number and form, and the like for tracking or verification purposes. However, it is best to notify your bank by calling the customer care number or informing them by SMS/ mail of your visit. You can even ask them about the documents needed and carry them beforehand to avoid unnecessary back and forth. Most of the time, a customer service official will provide the details to you on-call itself.
