K&R Rail Engineering is a railway engineering company specialising in the design, manufacture and supply of railway equipment and components for the railway industry around the world. It was incorporated under the name Axis Rail India Ltd. in 1983. Subsequently, in 1998, the company changed its name to K&R Rail Engineering with a vision to cater to the growing demand for mass transportation and bulk logistics of goods and materials through the Indian Railway networks.
The market capitalisation of K&R Rail Engineering stood at Rs. 26.83 crores as of 25th March 2022. K&R Rail Engineering share price closed at Rs. 16.40 on the same date. K&R Rail shares hit a 52-week high of Rs. 44.20 and recorded a 52-week low of Rs. 11.64. As of 25th March 2022, K&R Rail shares had a price to earnings ratio of 9.34. The company is the Leading Railways EPCC Conglomerate in India. It has provided last rail mile connectivity to almost all the cement plants, power plants, steel industry, and ports across India. Recently, the company has forayed into electric vehicle-based applications across the Indian Railway Network.
K&R Rail Engineering has also executed international projects in Indonesia and provided its expertise to firms in the Middle East and Bangladesh. The company is also collaborating with international clients in Eastern Africa to help improve the railway networks in the continent.
In the quarter ended 31st December 2021, K&R Rail Engineering reported total revenue of Rs. 79.06 crores compared to Rs. 34.93 in the same period in the previous year, an increase of 126.33%. It posted a total profit of Rs. 13.63 lakhs for the quarter ended 31st December 2021, compared to Rs. 76.43 lakhs in the same period the previous year. The company’s earnings per share for the quarter ended 31st December 2021 was Rs. 0.09 compared to Rs. 0.48 the year before.
