HAL SUCCESSFULLY TESTS GAS TURBINES
HAL - 3923 Change: 19.10 (0.49 %)News: HAL has informed that the company has done assembling and testing of the four General Electric LM2500 gas turbines used in Ingenious Aircraft Carrier (IAC-1 – INS Vikrant). These gas turbines were assembled and tested at HAL's dedicated facility at Bangalore. Moreover, HAL's team was actively involved in the integration of the power plant to the IAC and was on board IAC for all sea trials and carried out other critical activities in the absence of foreign OEM (General Electric) representatives.
View: HAL’s involvement in assembling, testing & supplying gas turbines for INS Vikrant, comes as a positive surprise for us. We believe that HAL may get involved in Maintenance, Repair and Overhaul (MRO) activities also for IAC-1 in future as the company already gives MRO support for aircraft and engines to Indian Air Force and Indian Navy. The company’s order book is at Rs 84800 crore as of June 2022, of which 23% is from MRO.
Impact: Positive.
