Quick Wrap: Nifty PSU Bank Index rises 4.11%, NIFTY jumps 1.01%

Nifty PSU Bank index closed up 4.11% at 4920.55 today. The index is down 6.00% over last one month. Among the constituents, Bank of India added 7.26%, Indian Overseas Bank jumped 7.16% and Canara Bank gained 5.97%. The Nifty PSU Bank index is up 42.00% over last one year compared to the 7.39% surge in benchmark Nifty 50 index. In other indices, Nifty Media index added 2.58% and Nifty Realty index gained 1.95% on the day. In broad markets, the Nifty 50 recorded a gain of 1.01% to close at 19047.25 while the SENSEX recorded a gain of 1.01% to close at 63782.8 today.
