Quick Wrap: Nifty PSU Bank Index records a surge of 2.64%

Nifty PSU Bank index ended up 2.64% at 5177.85 today. The index has added 3.00% over last one month. Among the constituents, Union Bank of India jumped 7.13%, Indian Bank gained 6.39% and Bank of Maharashtra added 6.34%. The Nifty PSU Bank index has increased 38.00% over last one year compared to the 5.96% spike in benchmark Nifty 50 index. In other indices, Nifty PSE index increased 1.13% and Nifty IT index is down 0.73% on the day. In broad markets, the Nifty 50 is down 0.42% to close at 19443.55 while the SENSEX has declined 0.50% to close at 64933.87 today.
