Quick Wrap: Nifty PSU Bank Index records a surge of 2.06%

Nifty PSU Bank index ended up 2.06% at 5691.6 today. The index has added 14.00% over last one month. Among the constituents, Punjab National Bank jumped 3.73%, Bank of Baroda added 2.95% and UCO Bank rose 1.79%. The Nifty PSU Bank index has increased 35.00% over last one year compared to the 19.43% spike in benchmark Nifty 50 index. In other indices, Nifty Auto index increased 1.51% and Nifty Metal index gained 1.39% on the day. In broad markets, the Nifty 50 recorded a gain of 1.00% to close at 21654.75 while the SENSEX witnessed a rise of 0.98% to close at 72038.43 today.
