Quick Wrap: Nifty PSU Bank Index gains 3.85%, NIFTY climbs 2.07%

Nifty PSU Bank index ended up 3.85% at 5332.4 today. The index has gained 5.00% over last one month. Among the constituents, Central Bank of India rose 9.03%, Union Bank of India gained 4.96% and Punjab & Sind Bank jumped 4.40%. The Nifty PSU Bank index has soared 30.00% over last one year compared to the 10.65% increase in benchmark Nifty 50 index. In other indices, Nifty Bank index gained 3.61% and Nifty Private Bank index added 3.54% on the day. In broad markets, the Nifty 50 added 2.07% to close at 20686.8 while the SENSEX increased 2.05% to close at 68865.12 today.
