Quick Wrap: Nifty PSU Bank Index gains 1.36%

Nifty PSU Bank index closed up 1.36% at 5554.1 today. The index has gained 11.00% over last one month. Among the constituents, Bank of India added 3.63%, Punjab & Sind Bank rose 2.89% and Union Bank of India gained 2.60%. The Nifty PSU Bank index has soared 29.00% over last one year compared to the 13.52% increase in benchmark Nifty 50 index. In other indices, Nifty Media index gained 1.28% and Nifty Metal index increased 1.04% on the day. In broad markets, the Nifty 50 increased 0.13% to close at 20997.1 while the SENSEX recorded a gain of 0.15% to close at 69928.53 today.
