Quick Wrap: Nifty Media Index rises 2.49%

Nifty Media index closed up 2.49% at 2380.2 today. The index is up 4.00% over last one month. Among the constituents, TV18 Broadcast Ltd gained 5.12%, Dish TV India Ltd jumped 4.52% and Zee Entertainment Enterprises Ltd rose 4.07%. The Nifty Media index is up 18.00% over last one year compared to the 16.79% surge in benchmark Nifty 50 index. In other indices, Nifty PSE index added 2.09% and Nifty Energy index added 1.77% on the day. In broad markets, the Nifty 50 added 0.50% to close at 21255.05 while the SENSEX added 0.51% to close at 70865.1 today.
