Quick Wrap: Nifty Media Index registers a drop of 4.98%, NIFTY Crashes 1.34%

Nifty Media index closed down 4.98% at 2189.45 today. The index has lost 4.00% over last one month. Among the constituents, Network 18 Media & Investments Ltd fell 8.85%, Hathway Cable & Datacom Ltd shed 7.99% and TV18 Broadcast Ltd dropped 7.47%. The Nifty Media index has increased 6.00% over last one year compared to the 9.70% spike in benchmark Nifty 50 index. In other indices, Nifty PSU Bank index has slid 3.77% and Nifty Metal index has dropped 3.26% on the day. In broad markets, the Nifty 50 has dropped 1.34% to close at 19281.75 while the SENSEX has declined 1.26% to close at 64571.88 today.
