Quick Wrap: Nifty Media Index registers a drop of 1.23%

Nifty Media index closed down 1.23% at 2232.45 today. The index has lost 2.00% over last one month. Among the constituents, Network 18 Media & Investments Ltd jumped 7.37%, Zee Entertainment Enterprises Ltd shed 5.29% and TV18 Broadcast Ltd gained 1.66%. The Nifty Media index has increased 7.00% over last one year compared to the 7.75% spike in benchmark Nifty 50 index. In other indices, Nifty PSE index increased 1.20% and Nifty Energy index gained 0.71% on the day. In broad markets, the Nifty 50 recorded a gain of 0.15% to close at 19425.35 while the SENSEX witnessed a rise of 0.11% to close at 64904.68 today.
