Quick Wrap: Nifty Media Index records a surge of 3.47%

Nifty Media index ended up 3.47% at 2470.65 today. The index has added 2.00% over last one month. Among the constituents, Network 18 Media & Investments Ltd jumped 20.00%, TV18 Broadcast Ltd added 15.31% and Dish TV India Ltd rose 8.18%. The Nifty Media index has increased 28.00% over last one year compared to the 20.68% spike in benchmark Nifty 50 index. In other indices, Nifty PSE index has slid 1.01% and Nifty Metal index gained 0.95% on the day. In broad markets, the Nifty 50 recorded a gain of 0.34% to close at 21618.7 while the SENSEX witnessed a rise of 0.40% to close at 71668.6 today.
