QUICK WRAP: NIFTY MEDIA INDEX RECORDS A SURGE OF 2.11%

Nifty Media index ended up 2.11% at 2372.7 today. The index has added 4.00% over last one month. Among the constituents, Network 18 Media & Investments Ltd jumped 8.43%, TV18 Broadcast Ltd added 7.66% and Zee Entertainment Enterprises Ltd rose 2.52%. The Nifty Media index has increased 9.00% over last one year compared to the 12.31% spike in benchmark Nifty 50 index. In other indices, Nifty IT index increased 1.67% and Nifty Energy index added 1.55% on the day. In broad markets, the Nifty 50 recorded a gain of 0.40% to close at 20937.7 while the SENSEX witnessed a rise of 0.52% to close at 69653.73 today.
