Quick Wrap: Nifty IT Index rises 4.56%, NIFTY jumps 1.29%

Nifty IT index closed up 4.56% at 35782.45 today. The index is up 14.00% over last one month. Among the constituents, HCL Technologies Ltd gained 5.42%, Persistent Systems Ltd rose 5.33% and Tata Consultancy Services Ltd jumped 5.28%. The Nifty IT index is up 23.00% over last one year compared to the 16.52% surge in benchmark Nifty 50 index. In other indices, Nifty PSU Bank index added 2.39% and Nifty Metal index gained 2.13% on the day. In broad markets, the Nifty 50 increased 1.29% to close at 21456.65 while the SENSEX added 1.37% to close at 71483.75 today.
