Quick Wrap: Nifty IT Index rises 1.29%

Nifty IT index closed up 1.29% at 34851.75 today. The index is up 6.00% over last one month. Among the constituents, Coforge Ltd added 2.05%, Tata Consultancy Services Ltd jumped 1.94% and Mphasis Ltd gained 1.50%. The Nifty IT index is up 22.00% over last one year compared to the 20.67% surge in benchmark Nifty 50 index. In other indices, Nifty Auto index added 0.44% and Nifty PSU Bank index has slid 0.38% on the day. In broad markets, the Nifty 50 witnessed a rise of 0.24% to close at 21710.8 while the SENSEX recorded a gain of 0.25% to close at 72026.15 today.
