Quick Wrap: Nifty IT Index registers a drop of 2.52%

Nifty IT index closed down 2.52% at 34395.45 today. The index has added 5.00% over last one month. Among the constituents, Mphasis Ltd fell 3.54%, LTIMindtree Ltd dropped 2.98% and Infosys Ltd shed 2.89%. The Nifty IT index has increased 19.00% over last one year compared to the 18.02% spike in benchmark Nifty 50 index. In other indices, Nifty Metal index has slid 1.81% and Nifty Realty index increased 1.23% on the day. In broad markets, the Nifty 50 has slid 0.69% to close at 21517.35 while the SENSEX has declined 0.75% to close at 71356.6 today.
