Quick Wrap: Nifty IT Index falls 1.60%

Nifty IT index closed down 1.60% at 36496.2 today. The index has gained 3.00% over last one month. Among the constituents, Tech Mahindra Ltd dropped 6.10%, Coforge Ltd shed 2.58% and LTIMindtree Ltd slipped 2.22%. The Nifty IT index has soared 21.00% over last one year compared to the 19.34% increase in benchmark Nifty 50 index. In other indices, Nifty Pharma index has dropped 1.30% and Nifty FMCG index is down 1.15% on the day. In broad markets, the Nifty 50 has dropped 0.47% to close at 21352.6 while the SENSEX has slid 0.51% to close at 70700.67 today.
