Quick Wrap: Nifty Energy Index records a surge of 1.58%

Nifty Energy index ended up 1.58% at 33036.15 today. The index has added 17.00% over last one month. Among the constituents, Coal India Ltd rose 5.55%, Adani Energy Solutions Ltd gained 3.18% and NTPC Ltd added 2.13%. The Nifty Energy index has increased 24.00% over last one year compared to the 16.46% spike in benchmark Nifty 50 index. In other indices, Nifty FMCG index increased 1.41% and Nifty IT index is down 0.95% on the day. In broad markets, the Nifty 50 added 0.16% to close at 21453.1 while the SENSEX increased 0.17% to close at 71437.19 today.
