Quick Wrap: Nifty Commodities Index records a surge of 1.46%

Nifty Commodities index ended up 1.46% at 6421.75 today. The index has added 1.00% over last one month. Among the constituents, Deepak Nitrite Ltd rose 5.77%, Jindal Steel & Power Ltd jumped 4.24% and SRF Ltd added 3.72%. The Nifty Commodities index has increased 8.00% over last one year compared to the 7.15% spike in benchmark Nifty 50 index. In other indices, Nifty Metal index increased 1.36% and Nifty Energy index increased 1.34% on the day. In broad markets, the Nifty 50 increased 0.94% to close at 19411.75 while the SENSEX increased 0.92% to close at 64958.69 today.
