TEJAS EMERGES AS TOP CHOICE FOR MALAYSIA
HAL - 4560 Change: -9.20 (-0.20 %)News: Tejas Light Combat Aircraft (LCA) MK1A, manufacturing by HAL, has emerged as the top choice for Malaysia’s requirement of 18 LCAs as the nation looks at replacing its ageing fleet of fighter jets. Tejas LCA MK1A seems to be a winner in terms of technical parameters and lower cost. Along with maintenance, repair & overhaul (MRO) work for the LCAs. India is also offering MRO support for their existing fleet of 18 Sukhoi-30 jets. Currently, the two sides are holding negotiations to firm up the procurement
Views: If India wins this deal with Malaysia, HAL will be manufacturing these Tejas LCA MK1A for Malaysia along with maintenance, repair & overhaul work for their Su-30 fighters. HAL already has an order of 83 Tejas LCAs from Indian Air Force and having strong capabilities in terms of manufacturing military aircrafts/helicopters with MRO support to armed forces. Moreover, the company has been focusing on increasing its exports of indigenous aircrafts/helicopters to Indian ocean region nations
