Rajasthan unveils new liquor excise policy
News: As per The Times ofIndia, the Rajasthan government has announced its new excise policy (FY23-modelled under ease of doing business), Rajasthan Beverage Corporation wil setup model shops on PP mode in major cities, where only premium liquor will be sold (airconditioned shops). The state continues to have 7665 liquor shops and no person can own more than five shops in the state.
Views: The department aims to earn excise revenue of Rs.15000 crore in FY23 (vs a target of |13000 crore in FY22). The state government has kept the distribution (retail shops) stable till FY24, but is concentrating on premiumising metro, airport based shops.
