News: For May 2022, Maruti Suzuki's (MSIL) sales volume jumped 7.8% MoM at 1.58 lakh units. Tata Motors' volumes were up 4.2% MoM at 43,392 units. M&M's volumes were up 19.4% MoM at 26,904 units.
Views: MoM growth in the PV space came in on expected lines. Segment mix continues to deteriorate at MSIL in favour of mini and compact car space with UV sales witnessing a decline of 17.4% MoM while the mini & compact segment registering a growth of 11.8% on MoM basis. At Tata Motors, EV volumes were up 48% MoM at 3,454 units vs. 2,322 units in April 2022. At M&M, UV volumes were up 20.1% MoM at 26,632 units.
