News: As reported in business standard, NPCI is likely to seek nod from RBI to set MDR on UPI linked Rupay credit cards at around 2% mark. At outlet with annual turnover of upto Rs20 lakh, these transactions will be fee with ticket size at Rs2000-5000 with no limits on number of daily transactions.
Views: We believe MDR for UPI linked credit card staying at near 2% mark, which is similar to normal credit card, is a positive as this could lead to increase in volumes and open additional avenues for fee income for credit card issuing banks
