News: According to media sources, Bajaj Auto will set up an EV 2-W manufacturing unit in Pune at a capex outlay of Rs.300 crore with a capacity of ~5 lakh units per annum. The stated facility is expected to be commissioned by June 2022.
Views: The company has already indicated at such a facility in the last quarterly conference call held in October 2021. This bodes well for the company, with Bajaj Auto well equipped to capitalise upon the growing penetration of electric 2-W domestically.
