US Dollar Index Speculative Longs Plummet To Two Year Low

The large currency market speculators continue to cut their long positions in the US dollar futures, according to the latest Commitment of Traders (COT) data released by the Commodity Futures Trading Commission (CFTC). The non-commercial futures contracts of US dollar index futures, traded by large speculators and hedge funds, totaled a net position of 3115 contracts in the data reported through August 1, 2023. This was a weekly cut of 2939 net contracts. The net longs have reduced on a continued basis in last few weeks and the current data puts them at lowest in last two years.
