INR Settles At Fresh Lifetime Lows Against Strong Dollar; Elevated International Crude Prices Weigh

The Indian rupee settled at a fresh lifetime low of 83.32(provisional) against the dollar on Monday amid massive strength in dollar and elevated international crude oil prices. Rupee depreciated for the fourth straight day to settle 16 paise lower at its lifetime low of 83.32 (provisional) against the US dollar. Besides, a negative trend in domestic equities also weighed on investor sentiments. At the interbank foreign exchange, the domestic unit opened at 83.09 against the dollar and traded in the range of 83.09 to 83.32 against the greenback. On the NSE, USDINR futures revived all through the day after opening in the negative to end the day at 83.36, up 0.21% as against previous close.
