Indian Rupee Slumps Near 82.80 Per US Dollar

The Indian Rupee has slumped today as losses extended for the local currency amid a heavy selloff in domestic equities and extremely firm undertone in the US dollar index which hit around three week high of 102.66 today. The INR is quoting at 82.78 per US dollar, down 10 paise on the day and testing three week low. The local equities are slumping as the benchmark NIFTY50 index is down around 1% to a three week low following heavy losses in last session.
