Dollar Index Speculative Longs Positioned At Highest Level So Far This Year

The large currency market speculators continued to increase their long positions in the US dollar futures, according to the latest Commitment of Traders (COT) data released by the Commodity Futures Trading Commission (CFTC). The non-commercial futures contracts of US dollar index futures, traded by large speculators and hedge funds, totaled a net position of 19477 contracts in the data reported through October 10, 2023. This was a marginal weekly rise of 662 net contracts but the net longs edged up to its highest level so far this year.
