Dollar Index Pauses Rally Below 104 Mark

The US dollar paused rally just below 104 mark on Thursday after stronger than expected US data led uncertainty about Federal course of action. The dollar index that measures the greenback against a basket of currencies was down 0.21% on the day at 103.61. Data from US showed initial jobless claims fell to 209,000, a decrease of 24,000 from the previous week`s revised level of 233,000. durable goods orders plunged by 5.4 percent in October after surging by 4.6 percent in September while University of Michigan said its consumer sentiment index for November was upwardly revised to 61.3 from a preliminary reading of 60.4.
