NET SHORT POSITIONS IN POUND RETURN TO JANUARY LEVELS

Large currency speculators continued to increase their net short positions in the Pound futures market, according to the latest Commitment of Traders (COT) data released by the Commodity Futures Trading Commission (CFTC). The non-commercial futures contracts of Pound futures, traded by large speculators and hedge funds, totaled a net short position of 27730 contracts in the data reported through November 14, 2023. This was a weekly rise of 11,478 net contracts. Speculators have turned bearish since similar levels attained in January this year.
