Dollar Index Speculators Sharply Reduce Net Long Positions

The large currency market speculators sharply reduced their net long positions in the US dollar futures, according to the latest Commitment of Traders (COT) data released by the Commodity Futures Trading Commission (CFTC). The non-commercial futures contracts of US dollar index futures, traded by large speculators and hedge funds, totaled a net position of 3942 contracts in the data reported through December 19,2023. This was a weekly decline of 13,659 net contracts and at its lowest level since September 05.
