US DOLLAR INDEX SPECULATIVE LONGS AROUND TWO AND HALF YEAR LOW

The large currency market speculators cut their net long positions in the US dollar futures, according to the latest Commitment of Traders (COT) data released by the Commodity Futures Trading Commission (CFTC). The non-commercial futures contracts of US dollar index futures, traded by large speculators and hedge funds, totaled a net position of 1300 contracts in the data reported through January 16, 2024. This was a weekly slide of 1610 net contracts and at its lowest level in around two and half years.
