POUND SPECULATORS NET LONG POSITIONS AT FOUR MONTH HIGH

Large currency speculators in the Pound futures market continued to increase net long positions, according to the latest Commitment of Traders (COT) data released by the Commodity Futures Trading Commission (CFTC). The non-commercial futures contracts of Pound futures, traded by large speculators and hedge funds, totaled a net long position of 30,931 contracts in the data reported through January 16 2024. This was a weekly increase of 10197 net contracts and its highest level in nearly four months. Pound speculators turned net long in December after staying net short for two months.
