POUND SPECULATORS CONTINUE TO INCREASE NET LONG POSITIONS

Large currency speculators continue to increase net long positions in the Pound futures market, according to the latest Commitment of Traders (COT) data released by the Commodity Futures Trading Commission (CFTC). The non-commercial futures contracts of Pound futures, traded by large speculators and hedge funds, totaled a net long position of 21581 contracts in the data reported through December 12, 2023. Pound speculators turned net long last week after staying net short for two months. This was a weekly increase of 9916 net contracts.
