NSE to conduct special live trading session on 20th Jan for disaster recovery site switch over

The National Stock Exchange (NSE) has announced that it will conduct a special live trading session on Saturday, 20 January 2024, as part of its preparations for the switch over to its Disaster Recovery (DR) site. This initiative aligns with the framework for Business Continuity Plan (BCP) and Disaster Recovery Site (DRS) for stock exchanges and depositories, outlined by the Securities and Exchange Board of India (SEBI).

The NSE issued a circular to inform its members about the upcoming special live trading session and the intra-day switch over from the primary site to the disaster recovery site, focusing specifically on the equity and equity derivatives segments. The first session is scheduled to take place at the primary site from 9:15 AM to 10:00 AM, while the second session will occur at the Disaster Recovery site from 11:30 AM to 12:30 PM.

During the first special live session at the primary site, activities will include the opening of the morning block deal window session at 8:45 AM and its closure at 9:00 AM, followed by a pre-open session from 9:00 AM to 9:08 AM. Subsequently, the normal market will open at 9:15 AM and close at 10:00 AM, with the Call Auction Illiquid scheduled from 9:30 AM to 9:45 AM.

Moreover, the second special live trading session at the disaster recovery site will encompass a pre-open session from 11:15 AM to 11:30 AM, a normal market session from 11:30 AM to 12:30 PM, and a Call Auction Illiquid session from 11:45 AM to 12:00 noon. Additionally, a closing session is scheduled from 12:40 PM to 12:50 PM, with the trading modification time slated to conclude at 1:00 PM.
