Quick Wrap: Nifty PSU Bank Index records a surge of 2.74%

Nifty PSU Bank index ended up 2.74% at 2946.3 today. The index has added 7.00% over last one month. Among the constituents, Central Bank of India jumped 9.86%, Indian Bank added 6.02% and Punjab National Bank rose 5.07%. The Nifty PSU Bank index has increased 29.00% over last one year compared to the 5.34% spike in benchmark Nifty 50 index. In other indices, Nifty Realty index increased 1.47% and Nifty IT index has slid 0.87% on the day. In broad markets, the Nifty 50 has declined 0.47% to close at 17522.45 while the SENSEX has declined 0.53% to close at 58774.72 today.
